Privacy Policy

1. Information we process

• Account information, such as your email address and profile details.
• Your email address, if you join the early-access waitlist. We use it only to contact you about early access and 3 Clicks, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
• Audio and resulting text when you request a transcription. If you choose Apple Speech as your Voice Engine, your audio is transcribed on your Mac instead of by our speech-to-text providers; the resulting text is still sent for AI cleanup, and the recording is retained as described under Retention.
• App context needed for formatting, such as the active app identifier.
• Usage, device, and diagnostic information needed to operate and improve the service.

2. How information is used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, transcribe and format speech, maintain private transcription history, monitor reliability, prevent abuse, provide support, and improve 3 Clicks.

3. Service providers

3 Clicks relies on infrastructure, authentication, speech-to-text, and AI processing providers. They receive only the information needed to perform services on our behalf and handle it under their own contractual and security obligations.

When you buy Pro, Dodo Payments runs checkout as the merchant of record and receives your email address and payment details. 3 Clicks never receives your card details.

With 3 Clicks Cloud, the default Voice Engine, your audio is sent to our speech-to-text providers. With Apple Speech, transcription is done by Apple’s speech model on your Mac. If Apple Speech is unavailable or cannot finish a recording, that recording is transcribed by our speech-to-text providers instead so your words are not lost.

4. Retention

Information is retained only as long as needed to provide the service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Local transcription history can be managed from the app as those controls become available.

Dictation recordings and their transcripts are kept on our servers for up to 30 days so we can review transcription quality, then deleted automatically. This applies whichever Voice Engine you use, including Apple Speech.

5. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so avoid dictating secrets that are not necessary for your work.

6. Your choices

You can stop recording at any time, choose which Voice Engine transcribes your speech, revoke macOS microphone or Accessibility permissions, sign out, and request help with account information. Some information may be retained where required by law or legitimate security needs.

7. Children

3 Clicks is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. For privacy questions, email support@3clicks.app without including recordings, transcripts, passwords, or other sensitive information.
